Germany: Wasser Berlin disappears

The bi-annual trade fair Wasser Berlin ceases to exist. Due to a lack of exhibitors the organisation is forced to skip the event in 2019 and will most likely not come back in the future. “Germany is too small for two big exhibitions and many companies choose to go to IFAT in Munchen, so unfortunately we cannot continue our activities”, says Melanie Winter from the organisation.

Wasser Berlin was one of the most important international water events in Germany for years. Every two years in March nearly 20.000 international water professionals travelled to Berlin to stay informed about the latest innovations of approximately 450 exhibitors in water and waste water technology.

IFAT in Munchen is also bi-annually and their next edition is taking place in May 2020. The event is with 140.000 visitors and 3.300 exhibitors much bigger than Wasser Berlin. The organisation of Wasser Berlin had to cancel the edition in 2019 recently when they found out many exhibitors prefer to exhibit on IFAT.
